"Probably won't sign..." Topic

Is there any chance that the probably won't sign guy with the increased demand at the end of the season will sign for less? I think I have read about players signing for less in certain situations. I am running out of time though if there is one game left in the world series I will give up and just signed all the other draft picks

I've had a case where the player signed for less. From what I remember this timing happened before the playoffs started though.

These players always make me laugh. Invariably, his agent is his mother.

If my mom ever turned down $8M on my behalf, she'd no longer be my agent.

Or my mom.

Real life story that is kind of interesting. A kid I coached at the HS level was touching 97 MPH as a sophomore in HS. Gets drafted by the twins. They offer him $1M. His mom makes him turn it down. Goes to GA Tech. Hurt his arm and was throwing 84-85. Quits baseball after his 2nd year. Joins Tech's football team. Instantly becomes their best receiver. Blows out his knee in the bowl game his senior year and still gets drafted by the 49ers and is now with the Dolphins. I haven't decided yet if his mom's decision hurt or helped him.
