Hey! I've been in D1 for five seasons now. I took a bottom-of-the-barrel team (FDU - worst team in worst conference) and turned the program around. We've won the conference tournament 3 years in a row, won the conference outright two years in a row, and upset the 5 seed in the first round of the tournament last year. FDU was D- when I took it over; it's now B-.

Still, as I look at job availabilities, most of them show as below me and the rest are "Keep Looking" or "Not Qualified". My vision was to work my way up the conference ladder and keep proving myself at each level, but it seems like that's not working.

What am I missing? Am I just being impatient? Am I doing something incorrectly?

You aren't doing anything wrong. For ages now, all I've seen at D1 are "Step Backwards?", "Keep Looking," and "Not Qualified." Nothing that's simply Qualified.

Your next step is probably to take over a C team in a mid major conference, or a horrible team in a Big 6. Are any of those showing as Step Backwards for you?

Oh sh**, you're right. I wasn't even LOOKING at the "step backwards" ones because I assumed they were beneath me. An SEC program is rated as a step backward. Seems like the rating system for "step backward" is just wonky.
