Disabled List "off" once the playoffs start? Topic

I'm wondering if anyone can confirm the disabled list is more or less "turned off" once the playoffs begin.

Here is my situation. Patrick Marisnick went down with an injury in the NLDS Game 4. My recollection is it an 18-day injury so I put him on the 15-day DL. Remarkably, my team advances to the NLCS and the WS, where it is nuked from orbit by a superior team. The theoretical recovery period for Marisnick passes during the WS and he goes green. No recovery. I wait a HBD day. No recovery. At that point, I'm getting destroyed and Marisnick isn't going to change the fact my team is overmatched so I continue waiting. No recovery.

This leads me to speculate that last DL bump where the AI sends notifications about all the players still on the DL (e.g. "so and so has recovered by still has 158 HBD days to go due to a ruptured spleen") is a point where the DL is turned off and new players added to the DL are no longer eligible for recoveries.

Does anyone have insight to offer here? Thanks!

I have gotten dl bumps in the playoffs before. What is your med and training set at?

Probably 19/19. Generally how I am rolling.

I should also note it wasn't there was no bump. There was no recovery.

Did you get playoff DL recoveries for players put on the DL while the playoffs were in full swing? Or maybe just for players put in the DL prior but who completed their DL stint during the playoffs?

I'm speculating the issue is placing someone on the DL after that last flurry of notifications/dumps occurs. Doesn't make simulation sense (we sent all the trainers and medical folks home for the summer?), but could be an error in coding.

I have no experience with less then 20. If you ran 20 Id say you should have gotten full recovery at the least if recovered before roll over. If after roll over then no he will not recoup all lost unless the injury rolls into the next season and you are able to put him back on the dl. Again all of this is based on 20/20 anything less I have no idea.

Thanks, brianp87. Maybe I'm generally lacking understanding of the overall mechanics of the DL function. My assumption is investment in medical/training doesn't impact whether a recovery cycle OCCURS (i.e. the actual event being recorded on the player card) but rather what occurs when you get the recovery cycle. In this case, the recovery cycle never occurred and I'm surmising no one, regardless of investment in med/train, is eligible for any recovery cycle if you put a player on the DL after playoffs start (and the last broad cycle occurs).

Obviously, I'm in the weeds here. Life continues.

The reason he had no recovery cycle should not have had anything to do with the playoffs or when he was placed on the dl. I have had players get bumps in the playoffs. I have never had a guy not get a recovery bump at least once unless he recovered in the offseason. I have only ever ran 20/20. Since they changed what we can view on past player ratings we can only speculate at this point.
