I have used redshirt button on jucos quite often. and usually no issue and if i didnt have much competition for them, I got them no problem


I fell like i have had a few times and read of some instances here where once i hit the "inform of redshirt button" , its like the kid says "you are dead to me" and there is absolutely nothing i can do to get him to consider me regardless of the interest from other schools.

Im trying to recall if these are just random or if they are all instances of recruiting a D1 player from d3 school.
I would say most of my jucos are d2 kids that i recruit from my d3 school. i cant recall if some of them were d1

Just did it last season for a d1 recruit (2 years remaining) at my d2 school with no issues. But again, the competition for this player was very light.

if anyone else is wondering the answer to this... or if i forget in 2 months,,,

i just successfully pressed the inform redshirt button on a D1 level juco from a d3 school and no ill effects
so its definitely possible, not sure if that scenario increases the odds of negatvie reaction to RS button,, or if negative reaction to RS button is totally random

It's the "wants playing time" prefernce. If they want playing time they don't take the RS nicely.
