Weird that Ott died in a similar fashion to two other HOF Giants, Frankie Frisch and Carl Hubbell. All 3 died in automobile accidents. Ott died at age 49...

This record is harder than it looks....18 consecutive seasons leading your team in batting average, homers or runs batted in...or wins, ERA or strikeouts...not many to do it that many times in a career. 18 consecutive? That's a tall order...this might take a while to break, if ever...
He has held this record for nearly 75 years...perhaps another Ryan Express comes along to put a Strikeout streak together. Maybe Mike Trout hits enough dingers every year...but Ott's 18 seasons in a row might hang around awhile longer...

Pujols outhomered Trout in 2016, so he's not gonna do it unless he has a Bonds-like run in his late 30s/early 40s

In a 20 year span, Ryan led his teams in K's 18 times and finished 2nd twice. Also very impressive.
