Some body please take a look at this pitcher and tell me why he is so bad as a starter. he pitches 7 inings on average per start but he has been terrible all season. not sure what to do with him

His ratings suggest a pitcher who would have a league average or very slightly worse ERA; 65 is a weak rating at VsL and VsR for a major league pitcher, and his other ratings don't make up for those very much. IN the AL (due to the DH) in a roughly neutral park, I'd expect about a 4.50 ERA, and he's in that ballpark.

I'd be fine with him at the back of my rotation... if you're going to use him at all might as well take advantage of his very high stamina. Just set him to a quick pull rating.

I agree with Dedelman. He is currently your best option for that role. Your pitching needs upgrading anyways, so you may want to try to trade for a better option. Also, I think you could get more innings out of Swihart. He is not great, but he is also not terrible either.

My big thing for a pitcher like that is he will work great as a 4 or 5 starter but I would put his pull rating high. I'd put it at a 4 if you need the innings or a 5 if you don't. That way he can't get into too much trouble.

This is like the best season of his career so far. I’d take 4.32 era with that guy all day.

He is not good so that's why.....lol
