actually 2 -

1) when i took over a school, the effort from the old coach got cut like in half or something as a penalty because those recruits liked that coach. but i also got more money. what happens when a coach leaves and simmy takes over? nothing?

2) any sense of what the 'cost' of redshirting a guy is (without losing very high), assume this is a guy who is like decently lower than your school, not like trying on a 5* or something. also, what if his preference is wants to play? does that mean i am going to have a very bad preference, and that is the end of it? or does that mean he's also unlikely to tolerate a redshirt?

can we make it 3?

3) When you're recruiting a Div. 1 rated player for a Div. 3 school, as long as you're the only school being considered, he will eventually sign with the Div. 3 school?

i haven't played d3 in 3.0 but from what i understand, he won't allow you to be higher than moderate until the final day, but on the final day he will allow you to go to very high. assuming you are very high by yourself on the final day, i believe he will 100% for sure sign with you. maybe not if hes an ineligible who could go juco, i forget if that's a thing in d3, but otherwise...

I recruit exclusively D1 players for my D3 team. Many successful D3 programs do. However, don't shoot too high. Zion Williamson isn't signing with a D3 team. If a D1 or 2 team shows interest, move on. The only chance you have is if they show real interest very late in the second cycle. For that reason, don't use home or campus visits until right before they are eligible to sign with a D3 team.

i don't inform of redshirt as I think it does more damage than good. Don't redshirt if you offer a start or minutes. If you haven't, most times they will accept. If not, you can always reverse to re-instate the ratings.
