Assuming you liked everything else about a D3 recruit, would you take a risk on a guy with 18 Def but green potential? Took another guy like that a while back, but he maxed out around 50.

If I could redshirt him, then yeah, probably. If he was going to be an elite scorer and I could redshirt him, then almost certainly.

That's a definitely a redshirt or cut player right away I wouldn't waste my resources.

Only if he comes with a reasonably high work ethic. Green 18 can turn into something good with a redshirt season (as others have suggested), but if it's coupled with a low WE, then it might not develop to where you want or need it to.

He has a 60+ WE, so I think he'd improve at a pretty solid rate. I was trying to create class balance so I wasn't thinking of redshirting him, but he'd be a second backup for the first season. He's got solid cores across the board; maybe not as high as the guy beachhouse posted (have him maxing out at 53+ ATH, 80 SPD, 75 PER, 79+ BH, 72 PA), but still a good player besides the DEF issue.
