Makeup - Dealbreaker or not? Topic

Would you draft a total STUD if he only had a makeup of 3? Yes, literally a 3. Lol.

Or would you not even consider it?

Let's even say you've got a top 3 pick.

In my experience, low makeup guys will still develop fine during the first few years pro. I would watch out for guys with the combination of low health and low makeup though. Injuries stunt the growth of prospects almost as much as mismanagement. As long as you play him in the minors as many games as possible, he'll develop.

I would not consider taking a stud out of my top three just because of low makeup. There would have to be other warts.

I mostly agree with this. I would penalize the player some-- any loss of normal development (like to an injury) won't be made up, and he'll decline early, and he probably will fall just a few points short of a similar player with makeup = 70-- but not a deal breaker.
