Just a quick question -

If you're going for a recruit versus another school where you are both considered "very high" and the opposing coach leaves their program (SIM AI takes over), what are the recruiting implications (if any)? What are the implications if the recruit values long term coaching?

If the team stays SIM coached, the school will maintain the effort credit already amassed. There is no reduction, and to my knowledge the school is not penalized retroactively in the long term coach category. If another human took control, the school would take a big hit.

The sim coached team won’t make any promises or do visits moving forward, so that could be one advantage for you.

Follow up just so I don't have to create a separate post:

I noticed a school in my conference had a player leave after their freshman year. Would that player be placed in the 2nd recruiting cycle or do they not appear until next season?

2nd recruiting cycle. They’ll be scoutable from their home state/country. If you’ve already used the scouting service for that location, they can be “found” by assistant search. If he played in a game last season, you can see his ratings, and even make some guesses as to potential, if you find him in a game log.

Weird. I'm not seeing him anywhere - home state, the college's state that he left, anywhere in the transfer pool with all parameters open. I see him in the game log for his previous school, but he left the school's roster page. Wondering if I'm missing something.

Edit: Do I need to use a scouting service / assistant search to find him or would I be able to see him if my search was broad enough?

If he didn’t contact you about his transfer, the only way you can recruit him is by “discovering him” now via scouting. That means FSS, assistant, or camp. If you’ve already FSS’d his state in the first session, and already done a camp, the assistant search is the only option. I’d limit search to his position, and the smallest distance that still gets his hometown in your radius (may want to check air mileage here - https://www.mapdevelopers.com/mileage_calculator.php)

I’d also limit search to find new players (uncheck the “further scout discovered players” box). You probably don’t want to waste money accidentally scouting up any other L1 or L2 stragglers from the first session.
