So, since there has been some interest in non-conference tourneys (and since the William Shatner Invitational was so successful), I figure we can make a push to have unofficial tourneys in Div-1 Crum.
The number of interested owners will dictate the amount of tourneys we unofficially put together. If only 8 people are interested, then we'll only have 2 tourneys. If 9 people are interested, I'll recruit 3 others to have a number divisible by 3 (or else have 3 teams schedule a Sim-AI as the 4th team).
These would be 4-team, round robin tourneys.
Kind of a World Cup Group Stage format, with the tiebreaker being:
(1) head to head, then (2) point differential.
There would be really no prize other than to claim ownership of an unofficial cyber trophy.
Ideally, I think, I will try to have each tourney include 2 "Big-Six" teams, and 2 non-Big-Six teams. In future years, we can set aside Games #2, #3, and #4 for these tourneys, but for Season 79, since so many non-conf games have been scheduled, we'll get a little creative, and have non-consecutive weeks for the tourneys.
Anyone interested can either send me a site-mail or add a message below saying if you're interested.
Let me know if you have any preferences, like a specific tourney ("I'd want to be in the Maui Classic") or if you're looking for specific opponents from a certain conference, or a specific set of human opponents. Or maybe a Big Six team wants to be with 3 other Big Sixes, or non-Big-Sixes want to be together.
Anyway, I think this might be cool.
My open games happen to be Games #2, #4, #6, #7, #8, and #9.
Interestingly, I checked some current schedules, and some teams are already close to having a potential 4-team tourney (like, Davidson, UConn, Clemson, and Stony Brook almost have the round robin set up already).
Also, I'll try to be somewhat logical about this. So if Santa Clara is interested, I would try to place them in the Cable Car Classic, for example.
If this works well, then maybe Seble will look into incorporating a more official tourney system in the future.

Ideally, 2 Big-Sixes per tourney.
