Most losses by a National Champion Topic

My Stanford team in Knight just won the National Championship!! Our final record was 22-12, which I know that's a high number for a national champion. So, I was curious if there's ever been a team that lost more games? I looked through the Knight national Champions list and only one other team (Seton Hall back in Season 17) even lost 10 games. Other worlds?

(The 12 losses is a little deceiving. We lost 6 games by 2 or more, another one by 5 in OT. Strongest schedule in the nation by A LOT. Went 10-6 in the Strongest conference this season by A LOT. Finished 11-5 vs. ranked teams.)

Not in Rupp (1 team w/11 losses), Naismith (1 with 11, 1 with 10), or Allen (1 with 11).

I had 8 at Colorado, but what is (obviously) the notable part is at one point we were 7-6 and very very bad on the PR, out of NT range I believe. I'd be interested in the worst situation a Nat Title team has been in during their season.

If you go to the champions list in your world, click on record and click on record again, it will list the national champions with the worst record/most losses.
Phelan is 12 losses. I think Tark is 11.

Here's one. Any teams that won their conference tournament, but finished with a below a .500 winning percentage, after the conference tournament and went on to go to the Final 4.

A little more info about this season....

This was my CSUSB team and we had quite possibly the unluckiest non conference SIM's I've ever seen. That coupled with the fact that the CCAA back then was absolutely stacked, led us to be seeded as a six seed even though we were very talented. In fact, three out of the four teams in the final four that season were from the CCAA and I had to beat another conference mate in the regional final just to get to the final four that year.

it was a perfect mix of luck and chaos
