I mostly agree with the above sentiment. If you want your best relief pitcher to win fireman of the year, put him at closer. If you want your best relief pitcher to help you win the most possible games, put him at setupA.

With the above being said, I have experimented with guys like the below at closer and had some success in small sample sizes. I lost two all star mvp candidate players this season to free agency in this World so I don't think I will be a playoff team this season. I am going to experiment with this guy at closer and see how it goes.

I have him set to come in during the 7th inning with a 50-70 pitch count and a 3 pull rating.

the last time I tried this was with the below guy and ended up with ten wins and 42 saves (fireman of the year) Obviously, it was just one season and maybe I just happened to put him in there during an above average year. There is certainly a possibility that if I had him as a starter that season, he pitches more innings and has a similar decent year (season 36) which also would have offered more value to my team, but I have no way of knowing. The below guy had worse control and splits, but a better line of pitches than the above guy.
