In an open league, do trades need to be just accepted or do they need to be completed by the deadline?

As long as the trade is accepted before the trade deadline, the trade will go through. I offered a trade on the last day of the trade deadline and it was accepted at 8p the same day. 8p the next day (right before rosters locked), the trade was processed.
