Ok, up to that point of the season, where is that 1.41 pitcher at as far as appearances and innings pitched? Underused a bit? If not, perhaps is a bit of an outlier...
We are 105 games into the season....and he has already used up 38 of his 52 innings....hardly underused...and I see this with many other relievers getting back to back 100 % too....I dunno how they do it...

His number of appearances? Perhaps he is on a 5-10 pitch limit? Getting 1 or 2 outs per outing is my guess, set 9th inning, strictly to close...

I set '87 McDowell or '88 Milacki on 5-10 pitches, 9th inning, 93-95 rest, can get 40 saves...

38 appearances....in both of the back to backs he pitched a full inning...8 pitches in the first, 20 pitches in the second...

It boils down to pitches thrown. Perhaps he has been very efficient up to this point of the season. He is likely on pace to throw less than his actual numbers. It is what it is.

This post has a rating of , which is below the default threshold.
If the reliever in question is underused, he can be at 100% after pitching the previous game.

No need for vagueness. Who's the pitcher and how many pitches had he thrown before those two appearances? How many games into the season were you?

Nothing unusual here. I recently had 1950 Jim Hearn pitch 6 games in a row in a relief - everyone of them at 100%. Pitch count ranged from 2 to 46.

Here's 1964 Dick Hall from the same team:

For reasons already discussed above, it's easier to do this when using an SP in relief rather than an RP with a low IP/G. But there is nothing unusual about a pitcher coming in as a reliever for 2 (or more) games in a row and being at 100% each time.

Particularly given that he only threw 8 pitches in the first game. I think that's a part of the equation that hasn't been touched on here, but probably had a lot to do with it.

The pitcher in question may have been underused at the given point of the season which would definitely allow him to pitch in back to back games at 100%, assuming he didn't throw too many pitches in the previous game. For example, if you have a 60 inning reliever whose only pitched 20 innings halfway through the season, chances are he would be able to pitch on consecutive days at 100% if he's only throwing 10 to 15 pitches per outing.

I still do not understand how ANY reliever can make back to back appearances at 100% percent fatigue....it NEVER happens with my relievers no matter how few pitches they throw in the first appearance of back to back.... no matter how few/ many IP/G they have.
How many games into the season and how many appearances? I’ve had that happen to me before where some of my guys, most recently Marcus Stroman, hardly get used all season, so I’ll set them to come in first at like game 150, and he’ll be able to pitch in the last 12 games without appearance fatigue.
