Low IQ/Junk Off/Def Topic

Been reading older posts about matching player attributes to particular off/def. Recognizing that all divisions can recruit up and that talent (get as much ratings as you can) is first thing, but if team is low prestige and getting pushed off better recruits, what would be the lowest iq/junkiest off/def to match to imperfect players? Conversely, if had a team that routinely recruits and loses EE's and having to replace with imperfect players, what is the easiest off/def to fit imperfect EE replacement players?

i am a little confused about the 'what would be the lowest iq to match to imperfect players' bit, aren't you talking about recruits there? aren't they all junk iq, except jucos? i suppose im not really sure what you are getting at there - nor when you asking about the junkiest off/def - like in terms of what? i feel like i'm getting the gist of what you are getting at but not enough to really give you a straight answer.

I think the question is in what o/d set is iq the least important?

its been theorized that zone has the least amount of iq influence. That may be true but I have yet to see any real evidence to support this. The crux of the argument, I think, is that fouls are less likely to occur in zone, so a low iq won’t negatively impact a a player in that way.

for offense, I would probably say FB for a similar reason although it’s based on minutes as opposed to the set. I am less
confident in FB than zone.

I think this hits close to what I might have been trying to get. Another variant might have been which o/d has higher variance so that it is less reliant on player attributes. Which o/d may create opportunities for wins irrespective of the players attributes.

oh, ok i get you now redraider. first up - TJ - i sort of consider FB the most dependent on IQ personally, or at least, the set which values great experience the most (my primary line of thinking here is that FB with its ath/spd/bh based scoring and less lp/per, continues to benefit from growing iq on those non-lp/per players basically without limit, and also the extra turnovers). zone, i'll buy.

anyway, the set creating the most variance? fb/fcp - i think that is an easy one. its the most demanding setup in terms of depth, but if you put 12 warm bodies together with no real talent, but they have good stamina and lay out evenly (5 guards, 5 bigs, 2 sfs type of deal), just in and of itself, you'll win some games. the fb/fcp causes so much fatigue and heavy fatigue causes a hit equivalent to a massive drop in ratings. plus, the press with its turnover generation is the single most powerful set in this game - it will help a lot by itself. but throwing in some major fatigue issues for your opponent? it can end up with massive turnovers.
