Hey Phelan Compadres,
We now have 16 participants set up for the Phelan Charity Tourneys for Season 139. Thx so much for joining. Remember, donations to each charity are absolutely voluntary of course and none of us need to know if you've given or not... just gives these tourneys a nice intangible. Here are the tourneys and teams:

New ideas this season:
- Winners of last season's tourneys get to defend their championship in that same tourney.
- We'll have 3 permanent tourney charities, and a fourth different tourney each season. Permanents are the Wounded Warrior, St Jude's, and Jimmy V. This season our 4th is for the Red Cross. In addition, if any of you have a favorite charity let me know and I'll be very happy to include it. I was going to include Australian Fire Relief but wasn't certain of a reputable website so i just included a Red Cross option.

WOUNDED WARRIOR:
- Seton Hall
- Houston
- San Diego State.
- Wisconsin.

ST JUDE'S:
- UNLV.
- Indiana.
- North Carolina.
- San Francisco.

JIMMY V:
- Syracuse
- Georgia Tech (my wife's alma mater).
- Stanford.
- Xavier.

RED CROSS:
- Iowa.
- Chicago State.
- Radford
- Washington State.

Schedules:

WOUNDED WARRIOR:
Day 3: Seton at Houston, SDSU Aztecs at Wisconsin.
Day 4: Wisconsin at Houston.
Day 5: Wisconsin at Seton, Houston at Aztecs.
Day 8: Aztecs at Seton..

ST JUDE:
Day 2: San Francisco at UNLV.
Day 3: UNLV at Indiana, San Francisco at North Carolina.
Day 4: Indiana at UNC.
Day 5: UNC at UNLV, Indiana at San Francisco.

JIMMY V:
Day 3: Syracuse at Xavier, Stanford at Georgia Tech.
Day 4: Xavier at Stanford, Georgia Tech at Syracuse.
Day 5: Stanford at Syracuse, Georgia Tech at Xavier.

RED CROSS:
Day 3: Iowa at Chicago State, Washington State at Radford.
Day 4: Wazzu at Chicago State, Radford at Iowa.
Day 5: Wazzu at Iowa, Chicago State at Radford.

PHELAN 139 CHARITY TOURNEYS:

Wounded Warrior:
Light schedule so far, with Houston having the early advantage with a comfortable home win vs the Badgers.

St Jude:
Indiana has been all class at 2-0 by bumping off UNC and UNLV, both of whom nipped the bona-fide San Francisco Dons. Indiana can clinch with a win at SF, in a game with such great ticket demand that it's been moved to the Cow Palace.

Jimmy V:
Tonight's Georgia Tech vs Xavier game will decide the St Jude, shown nationwide live via satellite at the Cintas. The always-virile Orangemen and Cardinal face off at the Carrier Dome.

Red Cross:
The mighty Iowa Hawkeyes, perennial championship contenders, have rolled on vs Chicago State and Radford, but may need to beat Wazzu at home tonight in order to guarantee the gold. Washington State could beat Iowa, yet would still need to avoid a 3 way tie with Radford due to point differential.

Good luck guys, and remember that the Wounded Warrior continues thru Gameslot 9.
