I just noticed that every recruit that I scouted all the way to level 4 in Smith has signed with a team, whether or not it was SIM AI or a human. Not a single player that has been scouted only to Level 1 or 2 signed with a team. It really looks like a player will only recruited if a human has scouted that player completely.

Wouldn't that mean that not a single player that you have scouted at level 1 or 2 was scouted to level 4 by any human player? Doesn't that seem unlikely?

i agree with karl, i don't get what you can take away because other folks likely scouted those level 1/2 players to level 4, and the reverse.

i would sort of question if you are looking at everything right, because it seems so weird - unless perhaps, you have a small set of players at either level 1/2, or level 4, allowing for a small sample size conclusion? i will say - if you are intentionally and manually scouting from 2->4 based on quality, your assessment could be influencing the final outcome. but otherwise, the whole thing doesnt make a lot of sense to me (if assistant randomly scouted an area, and you ended with a bunch of guys level 1 to 4, the observation makes no sense IMO).

most, if not all of, the guys unsigned were international players. I spent a lot of money scouting international players with my team this season trying to see if it was worth a D2 team looking that route. It just seems really weird to me that every player I scouted to 4 was signed but those who weren't were not. It could be coincidence..... but it's hard to say.

in that case, i would think you are basically causing this to happen. the guys who are level 4 are level 4 because they are good enough that you were up to spend the cash - the guys who are level 1-2 are not scouted because you perceived them as trash - and apparently, your perceptions are at least half way decent :) at least, that's how it sounds to me.

also it may be that internationals are more likely to go unsigned than continental players - and you have level 4 locals, with a mix of level 1-4 international? i suspect that internationals are much more likely to go unsigned, for two reasons. first, far fewer humans scout internationals than close to home, and second, sims used to be distance-agnostic (they didn't even spend money like humans). but now, they are more likely to recruit close to home, which probably makes them unlikely to go international route.

gillespie, there were only a handful of players that I did not scout all the way to 4 but contacted at all. I started out with 1 AP for 80 players and then weeded down based on who was being recruited by D1 players and who seemed to be guys I would unlikely land. Out of those 80 players I did not have enough scouting cash to scout about 8 of those players to level 4. All 8 of those guys are unsigned but the 72 players I did scout to level 4 have all signed. I guess I should have added in my OP that this was only players I contacted.

or is it possible that even though I didn't sign the players, the players that signed shows me the potential for each of those recruits even if I didn't scout them all the way to 4.

Also, don't recruits automatically bump up to level 4 once they are signed by another team? Or at least they appear to be fully scouted in the recruit pool.

that would definitely make a lot more sense to me. I did not know this, although having been away from the game for a long time... there's probably a lot I don't know now lol

oh wow, that is VERY interesting! i never knew that. i just confirmed it - at a school between session 1 and 2. you can go to recruit pool, and search for signed - and every single guy shows all the ratings. then when i change scouting level to 2, it shows me a dozen or so players i only had at level 2 - but i can see EVERYTHING. and when i click them, it even says level 4 in the top right! crazy. good catch mrslam.
