Prestige Question Topic

unfortunately I'm just below the level of what is needed for those schools. I tried for Idaho St as a longshot (didn't expect to get it) my best choices are Wofford (C+), Stephen F Austin (C+) or the only team in the A10 that I qualify for St Bonaventure (D). Rutgers actually was a long shot so not worth pursuing. I thought it said I qualified but I guess I misread that one.

St. Bonnie is a B- baseline. I'm guessing with a current D prestige they may not have much returning and recruiting will be difficult with that grade.
I guess it depends if this is something you want to commit to for 7-10 seasons, or just get to a point where you can jump to a higher team.

Long term, if you start reaching the NT, St. Bonnie will maintain the B level prestige easier than the lower baseline places.

Yeah exactly what I was thinking. If you wanna chill at one spot for awhile and build up a team, take Bonnies.

I'm hoping to move to a better team as quickly as possible. I'll probably stick around at Wofford for a few seasons. It has 8 scholarship openings, so I can fill a few freshmen recruits and then get some JUCO and Transfers. They have a couple pretty good players already, so I hopefully will be able to sustain the C+ for a couple seasons until I'm able to have a solid core to build on.

Is Rutgers the only Big 6 school you're qualified for?

They have a B- baseline which is lowest you can go for B6. I'd rather take a B baseline mid major and then move to an A baseline B6 school later.

There are tons of jobs open in A10 and all those are B- or B baseline. Or you can take Memphis, UNLV or utah. All of those jobs are better than a B- job in a B6 conference IMO
IMO, B- baseline prestige is fine, prestige doesn't really hold you back until 2 grades higher. it helps if you are in a conference with good conference prestige - i can't imagine the advantage of B in a mid major conf vs B- in a BCS conf with better conf prestige, amounts to anything.

meanwhile, if you are trying to get seriously back into things, there is no substitute for competition. the extra competition of the tougher conferences is worth a lot, lot more than a bit of baseline prestige. on the other hand, the regional differences may be more important to someone than all the rest of this put together, just depends on their priorities. entering a region with a little less competition for recruits is gonna be worth a lot more than a bit of prestige.

You don't really have conference prestige. Strong conference is a preference but that's just one preference and doesn't always show up on recruits.. so it's pretty small IMO. The benefit here is that you can more easily raise your own prestige by getting wins and tourney bids in a mid major conf. In stacked B6 conferences, those tourney bids are going to be hard to come by. Clearly this person is new or at least rusty to HD so that is probably too advanced/difficult at this point.

As for competition, you're not wrong. But that's subjective. There are plenty of people out there who are parked at D3 in empty conferences and they are happy as a clam. Sounds boring as **** to me but hey, whatever melts your popsicle.
