Recruiting - promised minutes Topic

The answer may be obvious but ...

you can not rescind promised playing time minutes?

Used to be that to do that you had to use the redshirt option but that also tended to **** the player off as well. Sometimes you could do it by informing of redshirt to get rid of the promises, then on the next cycle take the redshirt away and throw a bunch of visits or attention his way and it could sway him back towards your good graces but it wasn't always a guarantee.

Yes you can. Here's how.....

Once the promised minutes have been processed....
1) offer the redshirt (leave plenty of time before the next cycle, as in don't do this at 4:59pm est)
2) go to recruiting history and you will see two things highlighted in orange. one is "offer redshirt". The other is "withdraw promised minutes"
3) go to the far right side of the page and WITHDRAW only the "offer redshirt".

by doing this, the only thing that will process, is the withdrawal of minutes. Of course you're going to get negative effects. Sometimes it's nothing. Sometimes it makes the recruit hate you. But it does effectively remove the promised minutes.

No prob. I've looked into that situation FOREVER trying to figure it out because I knew it could be done. And this method makes it work. I've had much more success with it than I have failures. So try it out, see how it works for you.

Phalla I know you play a lot of D2, I've done it a lot with early signers that I didn't get competition for. So for example, I'll target a player from the beginning, that had other humans show up initially. So I'll offer starts and minutes expecting that I'll be battling. Then no one pursues (as least to my knowledge at that point). So when RS1 ends, I'll evaluate my situation. Going into RS2 if I have some backups prepared just in case it backfires, I'll do this trick on the opening cycle, and the player will sign with me, and I'll have no promises to fulfill. (I have lost a player completely that way too tho)
