Cutting sim-recruited players in your name Topic

Hey all,

It's been a while (I want to say 1 year, maybe 2) so I'm a little rusty on some of HD's nuances.

I came into a situation back at DePauw in Knight with 4 open scholarships. I cut 2 people expanding that to 6. When I came in during the promotions period, the sim had already signed 2.

I seemingly overlooked that the sim still 2 scholarships extended to random prospects and subsequently signed them in the late signing period, only bringing in 2 of my own scholarship players.

If I remember correctly, the 2 prospects signed in the early signing period will be under SIM AI and I can cut them without penalty. But I believe the 2 signed in the late signing period (even though SIM extended the scholarships) will be under my name and if I cut them I run the risk of causing my own signings to leave? Is that still the case?

Thanks for the insights.

I haven’t heard of any instances of players defecting after their friend was cut in 3.0. I am fairly sure that issue was discussed in beta, and seble decided to nix it, after hearing from folks.

The bigger issue is that you dont get scholarship resources for the players you cut when they appear signed by you. You used to be able to send a ticket and ask to have the resources restored, but I think folks started getting different responses on that. It’s one of the annoying little bugs that no one at WIS seems interested in fixing.
