I just signed up for a DII team because of COVID. Its my first once since 2018. I promised to go in with a positive attitude and I still have one. But damn, I already remember why I hated it and quit. Why are some DI players just... terrible? A guy at an A+ prestige school in D1 (A+ baseline and they aren't even that good--he's one of the guys who just throw money at 5 stars and do nothing around it) is literally going to sign this transfer from DIII who scored 2 ppg last year whom I wanted.... like what? He projects to 53 ath, 53 de, and 61 passing as a point guard by the way. I'm sure that'll be fine in DI. I wanted to bring him off the bench as an offensive specialist...

One of my biggest questions in HD history! Why someone would hate D2 "the most". Since it's not on either end of the spectrum. (As I've said in the past, I understand D1 hatred, EEs, nothing but rolls, etc. And I understand D3 hatred, signing players only on the last day, getting sniped after leading for 15+ cycles, etc).

So it's because of terrible D1 coaches?! I can see that being a frustration. I don't like that part either. But you do have the advantage to prepare, and go pick on D3s now to find a suitable backup.

Keep me posted how your feelings change throughout the process. I assume you will find out it's not "the worst" division to play in. Just maybe not your favorite.

Top I didn't say anything about hating it the most: that's from your mind ;). I get frustrated really easily, but nothing in games frustrates me more than when I design strategies and assume everyone around me will be a "rational actor" who behaves for their self-benefit, but then they end up not being a rational actor and it ends up hurting me.

The other issue is I like challenges... so I started the second session with a D- prestige team (won 2 games the last 4 years). It's the DIIIs who pick on me ;). Also, I'm really looking forward to it, even if Duke has to come in and steal my DIII sleeper transfer.

Can you imagine if IRL Duke recruited a transfer who averaged 2 points in DIII the season before though hahaha.

Oh I really thought that you've said in the past that it's your least favorite. That's what I was going by. I know you didn't say it here in this thread

Also, I fall victim a LOT to expecting other coaches to play with rationale, and do what's in their best benefit. I run into that far too often..... another coach and I will be on two of the same players. Both elite talent. I'll be an A+ the other coach will be a C or D prestige. One recruit wants success and every other preference I have, the other recruit will want rebuild and every preference I don't have.......

But of course, we end up fighting for the same recruit, instead of the other coach taking the obvious choice. Then one of us gets screwed. So I get that part!
