Working on a D3 rebuild in Tark. What is considered best practice for beating out SimAI schools?
Generally speaking, if you can, you want to beat them back down to “very low” on the considering tab as soon as possible. If you let them stay in the lead, they will keep up attention, and even start doing visits. I say “if you can” because you can usually only do this with one recruit at a time - especially if you’re in the D1 pool, and fighting off D1 sims.
The goal is to get this done with all your main targets without having to dip in to the recruiting budget conducting visits. Conventional wisdom for new players is to not spend any recruiting money on a player until you’re pretty sure a higher level human coached team is not going to invest in him. So if you’re fighting off higher level sims (but no higher level humans) those first couple days, you want to pick your top targets and focus attention on them, and unlock scholarship offers as soon as you can. Next, it doesn’t hurt if you can make promises - which should be easy to keep with a rebuild. The scholarship and promises are free, so you can save your $$ for battles against other D3 humans. As a new player, the recommendation is to do your battling right before they can sign with you. For D2 pool players, that will be the first processing cycle (5pm EST) of the *second* recruiting session, this is after the season and job change period has run. For D1 pool players, they won’t sign with D3 teams until the final 24 hours, so that’s the 11pm EST cycle before the last day of recruiting.
