Salary Cap Progressive League - Full Topic

Heading into season four, this is the first time we have had vacancies in the Salary Cap Progressive league, and both teams have a very bright future with multiple progressive mainstays approaching their prime. There are a lot of rules but the essential premise is that there is a salary max, a salary minimum and only current year's draft picks may be traded. It is a double season progressive. Except for a minor recent hiccup, there has been no drama in the league and everyone has been really cool. Both teams should end up with a mid round first in the upcoming draft. The rosters are as follows, as we 80-81/02-03 season.

This league is awesome and very competitive. Since there’s a salary cap, teams can’t hoarde talent and there are always decent players in the available players pool if you have the cap room for them.

Am i understanding this right? It seems that quite a few pretty good players would be let go during the add drop to reach salary cap....or do you have to have the cap space to draft them in the first place?

I am interested in the team....even tho the previous owner had no regard whatsoever for defense

Hey strubrosll: Did you used to play under another name? The league is extremely complicated and I would have some heartburn about turning it over to someone with only three seasons under their belt.

With regards to your question about the cap, you are correct that good players get let go but it should be done before the draft in most cases. Sometimes good players do get dropped during add / drop, but usually it is to pick up players that might be better fits.
