What are your thoughts on releasing minor leaguers who are never going to make the big leagues? I just took over a team, and they have a ton of guys in Inactive. Seems like they're just eating up payroll if I keep them around.

If you release them before or during the season, you are still going to have to pay them for that season. If you want want to release them, do it after the season so that they won't be on your payroll the following season.

I only release players to free up roster spots for better IFA or draftees. At minimum they allow you to keep your better players fresh. Also what strikeout said about payroll. If you start the season with them on roster you are paying them even if you release them.
