I am posting this purely for fun and discussion/debate. I am bored. Just a wacky idea no one may like but it would be interesting to see what people say... Give a reason for your response...

Why not have it where conference members can invite one team to join their conference every 15 seasons. Baselines travel with the team at D1. After the acceptance all conferences that gained more than they lost loses the last place finisher from the previous season to bring their number down to 12. That team is then placed in one of the conferences that lost more than they gained until all conferences have 12 to start the season.

That sounds like what they do in the European soccer leagues.......i think it would better work though between divisions as opposed to conferences.....maybe the final four moves up, and bottom four move down........with that said, i'm not sure i would like how this would end up. Props for the creativity though. I am bored as hell myself.
