I think it would be cool if they opened a world that only played like 10 seasons.

No Baseline prestige, everyone starts at D1. World ends in 10 seasons.


Or, everyone starts at D1 BUT you can only coach for 30 seasons and then have to "retire".

I agree. I don't really see much downside in adding a new world. I guess people would be worried it'd dilute the other worlds? Which may be true but I think if it really is different, it could work. It probably won't bring in new people but the people already playing would pick up more teams - I know I definitely would.

It's funny you mentioned MikeT. Your post in the Ab thread about the forums being toxic and scaring away new people sounded just like MikeT. He used to mention stuff like that all the time, even thought he was a major part of the problem. Oh MikeT, I hope he's doing well these days.

Anyway, yeah I jotted down some numbers. For Tark, D3 population went to 100 after FreeHD. After renewals it's now at 68 (d2/d3 did not change). I don't know what it was before the FreeHD thing but most D3 populations were floating around 50-60 (I think the worst was in the 40s). So I'd say a pretty maginal improvement. Allen is currently at 115 D3 coaches so maybe that'll be a better indicator once the season is over.

Seriously, I hope people stay. I actually haven't really cared much about the loss of humans, I still play humans, it just seems like I am playing the same humans nowadays but the more the merrier. Bigger communities are usually better than smaller communities.

Here's been my position on world populations since day 1.

I want this game to be successful because I like playing it. However, there are several things that I think could make this game even bigger and better. Those improvements will never happen if the game is floundering. More users = more income. More income = more investment (programmers). More investment = more changes and improvements.

So yeah, I want more users for selfish reasons basically.
