Here’s my rant. Spare me the politics...
One of my former friends recently said of me, “He’s such a liberal.” Now, if you ever had a rational conversation with me you’d find that as amusing as I do. Don’t get me wrong, I despise this president and what he’s done to this country. Yet the actual truth is that I’m fully DONE with pretending EITHER side of the aisle has ANY of our best interests as citizens at the forefront of their agendas. This country will continue to spin until WE THE PEOPLE get our collective acts together and start with term limits, MASSIVE reductions in compensation packages and REAL campaign finance reform when it comes to OUR governance. They could have turned off the hate faucet and worked TOGETHER to deal with this crisis effectively. They could have EASILY put REAL financial aid in the pockets of every CITIZEN. They could have made it so that there was NOBODY in the working class on the edge of financial destruction. They could have made it so that HARDSHIP wasn’t a reason to scream for your freedom. They could have given us confidence and instilled trust in our Governors, no matter their state or party. They could have made a stay-at-home order at least palpable and tolerable and given SO MANY of my friends in the entertainment industry a lifeline instead of a death sentence no matter WHAT they do. They could have taken care of US and instead they took care of corporate and business interests. I wretch at the thought of the suffering we are ALL seeing and the blame falls on EVERY LAST ONE of our elected representatives. There is NO CONSPIRACY. Only our elected officials forgetting their PURPOSE and PROMISE and continuing to divide the citizens of our great nation up by red or blue like the cattle that they’ve shown us we are in the last two months.
