Games Played vs. Minutes Promised Topic

I was curious if anyone knew how the minutes promise is achieved if a player does not play every game in the season. Is the number of minutes needed as simple as the player getting more than (26 regular season games) * (X minutes promised per game) minutes in a season? Or is there a floor on the number of games the player must be in that season?

?If I promised a player 10 minutes a game, and he averaged 21 minutes a game in 14 games but didn't play at all in the other games in that season, would that satisfy the promise?

No, if promised 10 minutes, he has to average that over 26 regular season games.
So, regular season he needs to total 260 minutes.
Also, i think it's key that he maintains 10 minutes thru the season, otherwise he'll complain... so say, thru the first 10 games, try to have him at at least 100 minutes.

By the way, if you promise a start, he just needs to start in 22 of the 26 games (85%), but it's key that he maintain 85% throughout the regular season.

Right, and it's only in the regular season. Postseason isn't part of the numbers.

i consider the CT as being the postseason.
So the numbers only follow the 26 regular season games.
