What has been your experience with redshirting? Topic

I'm mostly curious because I would like to redshirt a freshman that wasn't expecting to be. However, it's unlikely he'll see a lot of minutes. Would he be more frustrated if he didn't play or if I redshirted him without warning?

What's been your experience with this?

Best advice is to slap the redshirt on him. You will get an e-mail that will be angry or accepting. If you get the angry email then you will see a drop in the players WE. You can remove the redshirt and the WE will return to normal. No harm, no foul.

It depends, if you had any promises, you won't be able to redshirt. If you did not, he will probably accept it.

When I click to redshirt a notification comes up that says this action cannot be "undone." Are you saying this isn't true?

You can cancel the redshirt. You'll be fine if he doesn't like it. His WE will be restored after you withdraw it.
