A couple of my starting bats who are all allowed to rest are still getting run into the ground with fatigue in the 50's and 60's, and performance is reflecting that. They don't have a backup on the bench, only AAA.

If I force a guy to rest, would his AAA automatically be brought up, or would i still have to intentionally bring him up. If so, could I bring up all AAA at once 1 time and be done with it without having to daily micromanage ?

I have another team starting soon and would really be opposed to fine-tuning up to 6 games a day to stay on top of it except where I intentionally wanted to, but without letting s guy run down to 0 and his performance along with it.

So, I tried fixing this myself. Didn't go well.

Around 20 games I noticed faster fatigued hitters for some of my not quite full-time starters and a leadoff 2B. So I paid more attention to rest settings ie take out in blowouts and ok to rest settings. It worked fine for 1B and OF with bench backups as natural replacements, but D.Lopes kept playing as I have no backup 2B except AAA.

So in assuming it wouldn't automatically rest a starter with AAA, I set Lopes to 'Rest' and called up 2B AAA, intending only for a game. Now it won't let me recall Lopes, and in the process I inadvertently sent 2B AAA back to the farm.

I can ask later how to rest a guy correctly the first time with no backup at his position next time. But for now how do I get Lopes back ? I don't know how it's going to run my next game with no 2B or leadoff hitter.

Your AAA are good players. Open the thread on how to identify them. Set up the hierarchies (see the column on the right of options for your lineup in the manager's section) so that the appropriate AAA player is set to be second in line at each position.

So you should always have backup at each position. Don't send regulars down when they are not rested, rest them. Either set them on "rest" instead of at a position in the lineup or on the bench, or bench them and put the AAA player at that position in the lineup as your starter for a while, and use them up as needed to get your starting players back to 100, or just rely on the hierarchy settings to rest any player below 98%.

If Lopes is only set to rest he is not in AAA and you don't have to call him back, just change his lineup setting to 2B and the position in the lineup. If he is down in AAA for some reason, you probably need to send someone down to bring him back, unless you use "open roster spot" if you have fewer than 25 players in your active roster.

By the way, it may just be that Lopes was in AAA for less than a full day. I think players have to stay there for at least one calendar day (can't remember) before you can bring them back up. So try again today, he may be newly available. Good luck.

I just bumped up the Find AAA thread. A player sent down is ineligable until he has been down three games.

Mwett you need to get the AAA guys up pronto and rest your guys. Use the thread I bumped to indentify them. Then read all the posts made by contrarian23, his advice will do you wonders.

There is an early season fatigue issue that subsides around game 30. Important to utilize your scrubs early and often.
