Fatigue Issues Against Uptempo/Fastbreak/Fullcourt Topic

My goal in this scenario is to avoid the fatigue death spiral that can happen when playing against uptempo FB/FCP teams (especially if their primary strategy is to draw fouls). I want to avoid having any players out on the floor with red fatigue. In my experience the game really does not like to play bench players if they are below their stamina setting. Once all the bench players are below their settings (fairly fresh) the game will put the starter back in even if he is way more fatigued than the bench players. Gil described this situation in the above post when he talks about the starter entering the game at 61 fatigue.

By setting the bench guys to getting tired, I buy myself some more time before the starters play at tired/very tired. It's not the most efficient use of the depth chart in a normal tempo game but it can be useful against uptempo FB/FCP. And by setting my entire bench to getting tired and using all 4 spots for each position, I somewhat mitigate the risk of a starter getting in foul trouble.

that all tracks mrslam, thanks for sharing that, pretty cool

i want to clarify - the starter foul trouble issue should be a very small consideration for most folks and isn't really a reason to not do what mrslam suggested. foul trouble is always on my mind because of what a role it plays as a volatility contributor to high end press teams, but i really could have left it out, its really just a distraction in 98% of situations. trying to manage your rotation and limit severe fatigue is far more important.
