Greetings from semi-Quarantine! About 11-12 years ago I played WIS baseball, even somehow won a championship. Was bored one day not too long ago, so I logged into my account and saw I had some rewards I could use for some teams, so I've decided to play WIS basketball now. I have to admit, like many of you, I enjoy the process of building teams for more than makes any sense. I have some ideas for some new theme leagues that others might be interested in, but I am wondering how those create leagues, how decide on the salary cap. Not actually entering the number, but deciding what it shall be. Is there a rhyme & reason, or is it just a random number? Thanks to everyone, and happy sim.

When it comes to cap this is how I see it

The lower the cap the more variety of players you are going to see because you can't pick all the highest salary guys. So the lower the cap the more variety you will have but the harder it is to draft.

The Higher the cap you begin to be able to pick anyone but there isn't going to be much variety between rosters because everyone will pick the best highest salary guys. So this is for if you want freedom to make a dream team but you don't care if a lot of the teams look the same. If you are just starting I warn you about making a league with a big salary cap and you are just starting out in sim basketball. People on here have been playing a long time I know the exact right line ups for success and if you don't have certain key players on the high cap leagues you don't stand a chance

The key is to find that perfect zone. I like to play in leagues with a cap between 46-53. Which one you choose will depend on the kind of league you are running. Are the restrictions on certain players? Is it a free for all? Is it a draft league? Is it a progressive, which often time have no cap at all?
It really is up to you and what kind of theme you want.

Hopefully some others will also add their input I run the banned league but I still feel like a rank amateur on the site (156 playoff appearances and only 3 championships)
