Does anyone have an idea of the most free throw attempts by a team in a single season? Even a rough estimate would be amazing.

Thanks!

Curious for the individual player record as well. Guy in Tark right now D2 with 375 attempts in the regular season at the line.

I only have my NC season stats saved. Most of them shot over 1,200 FTs, a little under half shot over 1,300 FTs. My top three are:

Texas, Tyler Smith 86 - 1,670
Linfield IBA 92 - 1,540
Linfield IBA 87 - 1,487

I am sure there are teams with higher (maybe even some of mine), but these are my top 3 and by far.

I am at 1081 going in to the CT. If averages stay close I’ll probably end in the 1300’s unless I make a deep run. 7 guys over 100 attempts which is nice.

Ohhhh. I didn't realize this was a "team" question. I hit 1581 once with my Coker title team in season 110. But I only remember that because I've used that number as a password for things before. So it stood out to me.

I bet mr danpilgrim has some high numbers recently. He's on fire right now as my reign of terror at Coker started to tame down, and now his Stanislaus team is leading the way in D2 Naismith. Always has high ATH and runs fb/press/uptempo generally.

My best individual for FT attempts was Rober Patel's Senior year where he was Player of the Year Defensive Player of the Year and won a national championship. He finished with 427 attempts for the season. https://www.whatifsports.com/hd/PlayerHistory/Stats.aspx?pid=4155422

If I had to guess, I'd say mfnmyers has had teams that have shot a ton as well. If I'm not mistaken, he runs exclusively FB/FCP and takes like 0 threes a game.

There's a guy in Tark D3 with 467 attempts and 390 made this season. His season is over.

Good call on mfn. He has at least one guy who had over 500 attempts in a season:

Here's my last 5 national title winning numbers...

Season 118 - CSU Stanislaus - 1232 FTA
Season 117 - CSU Stanislaus - 1310 FTA
Season 116 - CSU Stanislaus - 1113 FTA

Season 118 - Knox - 1518 FTA
Season 96 - Knox - 959 FTA (This team shot a lot more 3's than my usual teams)

My Stanislaus teams have been pretty balanced, I think my 117 numbers are higher because I lost my best 3 point shooter for 1/3 of the season.

My Knox team in Wooden was probably the best D3 team I've ever had, and maybe only had one decent 3 point shooter. That team had 8 guys shoot over 100 FTs (3 of which were over 224), and a 9th guy at 94.
