I can't get this guy to shoot enough 3s at the 3...shooting 83.0% eFG on 3s and 41.9% eFG on 2s. Not a typo btw. Dude has been crazy for 3. Obviously its a ridiculous split that won't remotely hold up with greater sample size... but still. Having him at +2 at the 3 with 61 LP and 96 Per is only netting me 60.2% 3-pointers...

So... would you move him to the 2 just so he can shoot more 3s. Given he has poor spd/bh I was definitely not a fan of this idea, but maybe its smarter than I thought...it would help utilize the elite PA more as well right?

That guy is a natural 2 in triangle and flex. Speed is fine, though BH is less than ideal, definitely not a noticeable hindrance in those sets. I suspect motion and FB factor BH a bit more, so maybe calling it “poor” for high D1 motion isn’t entirely inaccurate. But I doubt it will be a problem for you. If you want more 3s from him, moving him to 2 is probably the only way to affect his tendency, in any set.

Yeah, I had the same problem with this dude a while ago, and he has 13 pts less LP and 5 pts less Per. +2 at the 3 only netted me 50.4% 3pters JR year and 49.6% 3pters SR year which strikes me as ridiculous.

I've had this guy on +2 at the 3 as well this year and he is at least shooting 72.3% threes. And he's shooting 63.6 eFG% on 2s with 18 LP at the 3 as well as 66.2% eFG% on 3s with 97 Per at the 3. So 0 complaints there, the +2 at the 3 works perfectly. I think statistically you want the eFG% on 2s higher because of the negative curve between Usage/Efficiency is steeper on 2s (especially at very low volumes that are heavily dunks/layups), but I'll take that anytime.

Also, while we're on the topic of playing 100 ath/sp/de/per/bh guards at the 3, how about Harmon having 15 fouls in 477 minutes. Jesus.

Interesting. I know you're talking attempts, but is there a negative effect to how well a player shoots 3s based on position? In other words, will the same exact player shoot a worse % at the 4/5 as opposed to the 2/3?

For fun, I'm trying to build a team where PER is the number one attribute I look for in every recruit and this would be incerdibly disappointing if it were true.

I dont think so baums.

I have a PF on my Rollins team that is shooting well from the arc.

Not sure what level you're at, but I played the same style with one of my previous D3 teams, and if I had a guy at the 4 or 5 with decent PER, I would let them fire away. Pretty much everyone of them was at least high 30% on 3s. Here's a couple examples.

I think you found the ticket last game when you started him and played him 30 minutes

Yeah, you can't bring a guy with 87 stamina off the bench and expect to get close to his full value. Just so loaded at the 1/2/3 this year I have to do it game by game.
