1994 Strike Season Question Topic

Can't figure out 1994 on here. It took what guys hit in 110 or so games and added a couple hunderd IPs to make it look like a full season without adding to the stats they hit. Junior hits 40 bombs in 110 games and that is all it gives him credit for with 700 IPs instead. Throws the whole year out of Whack .. thanks

The stats guys accumulated in 110ish games before the strike in 450 PAs were left as is , but they changed the PAs to 650. Griffey Jr hit 40 HRs in 493 plate appearances but this shows 40 HRs in 714 PAs. His value should be based on true number of PAs , like 62 Mantle who didn’t play the whole season.

All seasons less than 162 games will have the player stats prorated to a full 162. In the Draft Center though you'll see only the player's actual stats from that year, without proration. Only the PA figure is prorated, and that's important because fatigue is based on PA.

Once you enter the league though, your team's stats page will show the stats as the prorated numbers, and that season of Griffey is prorated to 161 Games Played and 58 HR.

The raw numbers for concrete stats (ie: non-rate stats, like BA/OBP/ERA/WHIP) don't matter that much. It's their frequency that's important. ie: HR/100 PA. So whatever that number was for Griffey in '94, that's the number that will be used in the calculation.
