The NWPEE needs 2 owners for the 1907/1972 season Topic

The No Whining Progressive Early Edition (NWPEE) is looking for two new owners. Our draft is currently underway with placeholder owners making picks for the new teams.

So, a little bit about us...

The NWPEE is a dual year prog that is heading into our 1907 /1972 season (Season 23).

- No Whining is rule #1. Owners are expected to be responsible for their teams. That is... make your picks in a timely manner... keep track of your keeper lists... deal respectfully with the other owners... and enter your team without undue delay. We understand life can get in the way, but if it is doing so and impeding your ability to run your team, please let us know so we can take appropriate steps. Everyone is expected to be familiar with the rules and timetables and whining about any of these things is really not on.

- In order to discourage tanking, the NWPEE has a completely random draft order. The draft order is determined at or around the All-Star Break. And yes this means that the eventual WS champion can end up drafting 1st over all. Rounds then proceed in a serpentine fashion. i.e. 1-24, 24-1, 1-24, 24-1... and so forth.

- One of the unique features of the NWPEE is that, in order to ensure that there is a constant flow of good players available (and to mitigate somewhat the effects of the random draft), the NWPEE employs Contract Points. They operate much like a salary cap. Every team has a Contract Point ceiling of 80. Contract points are the equivalent of Years. So, if I draft rookie Nap Rucker in the upcoming draft and allot him 7 Contact Points, I would own his rights from the 1907 season until the 1913 season. He will then return to the pool of draft-able players. Once "signed" a contract is ironclad, with a very few special exceptions. These are the numbers you will see beside each player on the available teams.

If you have any questions, please feel free to SM me...

Solid league with smart competitive owners
Detroit team has a really good future with the right owner.
They have the 24th pick in the draft, but also have the 25th.
I've been in that position and it can be a plus.

Couldn't agree more with bluesguy--it's a terrific league. Not only are owners smart, but the forum is light and fun. I joined three seasons ago and it's quickly become my favorite league. Lots of strategy, but the fact that you can pick from two seasons instead of just one means the coffers aren't quite so barren.

Thanks guys... as you can see, this theme has fine and enthusiastic owners.

Thanks for your interest. The 07/72 Season has already begun... but if you are interested going forward, Detroit will be available. Sent you a SM explaining more.
