I feel like a lot of factors come into play here. If it's safe to assume that you're "better" by the eye ball test, I'd factor in the sets being played as well.
For example, when I play an uptempo fastbreak press team, even if I feel I'm the better team, but I'm running a non fastbreak offense (with MY press), I haven't had as much success. And I'm speaking of elite vs elite. Fatigue factor doesn't seem to come into play in those games as much.
Also the ATH/ST difference or similarities still play into the game. If you're running uptempo and have higher "everything" except for you are significantly worse in the ATH department, it will create more fouls on your team. (Also know that games like these come down to FT shooting. With both teams getting 50 attempts, you wanna be alert of that comparison as well)
