Promotion Question for New User Topic

I'm an inexperienced owner, who surprisingly finds himself competing for a playoff spot 108 games into the season.

I could use another starter or at the very least a long reliever, but I am pretty much tapped out budget wise.

Is this guy ready to be promoted and be an asset to a ML staff? His splits are good, his pitch ratings are pretty so-so.

The good news is that his splits are still improving. The bad news is that everything else is going to get him in trouble. He'll def get knocked around in the playoffs this year. If those splits get into the 90's he might be a able to overcome all those other weaknesses to be a a halfway decent pitcher.

If you're going to put a 21 yr old in the majors, you have to keep giving him innings. If you're going to bench him because he starts getting knocked around, you'd have been better off leaving him in the minors.

I think he has pitched enough this season for growth. The problem is he is a mop up at best pitcher at this point in the ml.

Check Free Agents available for the upcoming season and see which teams have the best pitchers that are in their final year. Take the above guy, package him with another player and trade for that pitcher that will help you in the playoffs. Who knows, maybe you steal a comp pick in the process.
