What is the absolute max contract you can offer a player?

10 mil signing bonus
20 mil 5 years
player option
no trade clause

Is this correct? Also, what are the tie breakers?

I do not know the order of tie breakers but some of them are previous team and coach for position.

That's correct... unclear if the no-trade matters if the player doesn't requests it but most owners offer anyway. Ballpark effect is also supposedly a tiebreaker... I'm pretty confident that previous team, if player has been with them for at least 5 seasons, is the first tiebreaker.

Yeah, I'm almost certain I've not seen a previous team offering a max deal get beat out. The others are factors but I highly suspect that's #1.

I've offered the max and am losing. The previous team does not have the budget, so I'm guessing I'm losing based on coach? I havent signed one yet at his position. I guess I'll find out soon enough what the tiebreaker was.

Tiebreaker was coaching. I had a better record previous year, and signing team was not his former team. His Pitching coach was rated higher....meh
