George Ryberg's career 3 pt % is a measly 0%. As a 99 PER player, he just wants to unload. During pick up games when coach isn't around he shows off unlimited range pulling up from mid-court with LaMelo type confidence. But, during Dickinson practices, coach mfnmyers paints over the 3 pt line saying, "Effective FG% be damned! Only way to score three is the old fashioned way."
If you have ever played D3, chances are you have played an mfnmyers team, and chances are you have lost. Love or hate the system, Dickinson is unwavering in their process: (i) recruit a Kentucky level advantage in Ath, Def and Sta, (ii) go 12 deep, (iii) and run your opponent into the ground with FB/Press. The gameplan depends on other teams getting into foul trouble and other coaches pushing defensive positioning into the extreme negatives. The fact is, three point shooters detract from the system. So, while Ryber's fantastic PER attribute helps him score efficiently inside the arc (24 PPG / 50%), he can't add value on the outside.
