My D3 Chestnut Hill has 7 Open scholarships...any advice on how to tackle that number?

Don’t sign 7 players.

You can use your AP and target 4-5 guys. Next season you can target the next 4-5. You want to keep balanced classes for the most part, but with your 7 openings you’ve got a nice AP advantage when it comes to signing a good 4 guys.

If you asked before the season started it would have helped more.

I have the same thing at Minnesota - here's what I did
1) Cut one Sr (too late for you)
2) RS one Sr (keep him off depth chart then RS after RS1 period) (too late for you)
3) Bring in a JUCO (or 2) next recruiting session.

Yeah, I took over when the season started. I did Redshirt a sophomore to solve a logjam position-wise. Hopefully I'll be able to find some JUCO players.

I feel reluctant to help a guy who just injured one of my players... (I kid of course)

I'd look for a Sr. Transfer or two who can help you out near the end of RS2 for free (just AP). For your team make-up if you can find a halfway decent big who knows your O/D might be a good fit. You get the same resources the following year for a Sr. and a walk-on so it won't take anything away from your team if you have open spots to fill anyway.

A floater from the left side with 1 second left...tough loss. Thanks for the advice guys.

above all, at this stage keep in mind that you do not need to fill every slot

a walk on or two is fine in this situation - you'll have a more complete chance to recruit next season. Fill that roster with your kids, who buy in to your program and fit what you have in mind.
