First release of projection report in D3 Tark (I know it's super early). Interested to get some guess on where you guys think the following team falls on the projection report:
Unranked
RPI 116
SOS 288
Record 8-2
Home 5-1
Away 3-1
Two top 25 RPI wins (both at home, not sure if location matters)

Probably 65th

Going 40. Maybe even higher if they have 1 other decent win. Guessing they played about 6 terrible teams.

Or maybe they have a couple of bad losses? Could certainly use more info here.

I've never paid attention to the projection report earlier than about halfway through conference play.

I already know the answer but I'm not sure I'm *that shocked* by it. Will expand on my thoughts after a few more guesses.

Yea it's way early. And I'd need to see wins/losses vs top 100 before I'd make a guess

Agree, a lot of factors could influence this a lot when it’s this early. On that note, the projection report really is pretty meaningless coming right out of nonconference.

Can you paste the team profile here?

The 2 top 25 wins are big, 4 top 50 and 5 top 100 games are, too. I’d say probably top 40 on the projection report.

Wherever they are, they’re going to drop, with everyone in conference in triple digit RPI and SOS.

So I got a little bogged dow with grad school work . Meant to check in sooner. I know the novelty of the projection report has surely worn off, but as a long-hiatus returner I really like it!

Its a small number of games so far, but seeing this initial rank and seeing how it progresses will be interesting for me at least. Btw, it’s a better/lower number than has been guessed so far.

Yup, it was 27, now 30. Though sol (his 3rd top 100 win) has moved into top 75.

Like I said, it is early and I’m interested to follow this team. A team like this IMO should be in the tourney (a top ten seed??) if they hold serve in conference. And they shouldn’t have to risk having all ten or even 7-8 challenging non-con games. RPI and SOS will probably continue to fall, but there’s got to be a floor somewhere.

Thanks for indulging. Sorry to rehash and old topic, but it’s new to me even though I’m old. Seems much better than the old system which much more heavily favored RPI.
