Well, there was that, lots of weak armed catchers, in 16 years that I've been playing this game, it's the first league where I see that many D and C arm catchers. The other thing is that Raines was hitting around .380 for 3/4 of the season.
But he did get into a slump near the end of the season where he hit around .120 for a streak of about 25 games. At some point I started to think he might not get the record because he just wasn't getting on base.
I had his base stealing set at 5 against D arms, and at 4 for the others, 3 when facing the few A+ in the league.
