For those who like family themes, turns out there's a father-son combination we never knew about ... until now. Great story in The Athletic.

Dotson recently did one of those DNA kits after lots of family had encouraged him for years. He got a contact from someone who matched as a first cousin. They started putting all the pieces together, and it turned out Turk was his real father. Dotson's parents had been separated briefly, Turk came into town and hooked up with Dotson's mom, then parents got back together and that was that. Apparently his mom always hinted at a family secret, but the dad never knew.

So now that he's confirmed it all, Dotson paid to have cardboard cutouts of him and Turk side by side at a White Sox game so they could attend a game together. Just a really cool 2020 story.

This was mentioned on Bill James' site too, but there it was Turk Lown, not Turk Farrell. I assume Farrell is the correct one though since he actually played (albeit briefly) for the LA Dodgers (as in the cardboard cutout photo).
