Promises Question Topic

I promised a kid 25mpg during recruiting and early on got the "I'm not playing enough minutes" angry email from him. He was only getting like 19mpg, so makes sense. I just got the "I'm happy" again email from him, saying he's happy because I'm getting him 23mpg. However, he's actually only averaging 19.4mpg and when I remove the 2 games he's fouled out of, he's averaging 19.5mpg. (I'm not complaining here, just confused is all).

For some reason I can't link the player, but it's Martin Rickert on my SF St. team. I know the "I'm happy" email is usually the litmus test for when a player will transfer, just confused as to why he thinks he's playing 23mpg when he's only out there 19.4mpg. Any thoughts?

One theory would go 19.5 rounds up to 20, which is 80% of the promise.

Did he play 23 mpg in the period between the two emails?

Take away the 10/16 PM game in which he fouled out, he averaged 22.6 in the games between 10/14 PM and 10/18 AM.

Yep, that helps explain it. The first email came on 10/14 and the second one came 10/18, where he averaged 23mpg. I wouldn't have ever thought to go down that road to solve this. Thanks, guys!
