Recruit Against Sim Topic

This is my first recruiting session back playing HD again after a few years break. I know I’ve seen this question answered on the forums before; I apologize for the repetitiveness.

D2. I’m gearing up for 2nd recruiting session to start. Being considered Very High on a D2 recruit against a Sim D2 team that’s also Very High. Then, on a D1 recruit I’m being considered Moderate against two D1 Sims that are also Moderate.

What is the best strategy to beat these Sims? I’m replacing half my team and need to use my resources very carefully. Any tips will be helpful. Thanks!

Vs the D2 sim you're likely going to have to accept the roll.

the battle where you say you're against D1 sims and all schools mentioned are a moderate, it's a bit different. In this case you are the very high team at this moment. And both D1 sims are really moderate. You didn't mention signing preference. My suggestion, if he is early/EoP1 signers, I'd mini bomb him. Maybe 8 HV. Because early/EoP1 guys will sign with you on the first cycle. 8 HV will keep them from moving into signing range for that one cycle. That's all you need.

if he is a late/whenever signer, thats a guy I'd invest more in if you have it. Chances are he won't sign immediately (although he could). But with a big bomb, say 15 HV, you may push them down and they'll give up. Then you'll have 15 HV invested on him in case he waits around and other schools jump in the picture.

If you STILL have money after that, invest it in your D2/D2 sim battle

I have a similar situation, I'm a rebuilding D3. This will be my second recruiting class. I have one open scholarship.

I'm in a battle with a D2 team over a player. Currently they are very high and I'm very low. I just offered him a scholarship. Is this a battle I should go after or even win?

Thank you, Topdogg. That’s helpful.

Breaks, at D3, if there is a D2 team
already Very High, I would move on to your next prospect. It would take a lot of resources for you to be considered Very High too. Probably more than you have with just 1 open scholarship.

Thanks Craig, I’ll follow your adviced.

The guy on my list is someone who is ineligible. Can I offer him a scholarship? Also could I red shirt him as a freshman as well?

No problem..... by the way, my HV numbers weren't exact in any way. There's no true number you can turn to for situations like this. Just example numbers of options you could use

I remember you from when you played before. You and I have discussed things in the past. So I'm sure you grasp things a bit already
