Promises when no preference by recruit Topic

If recruiting a player with no preference on playing time, will promised playing time have any impact? Obviously it wouldn’t have the same effect as a promise to a guy who wants to play, but does it have any impact at all, or zero?

It has some stand alone impact, but it does not affect the credit you get for further visits or attention, as the promise of playing time does for players with that preference .

100% definitely still worth it. It's as powerful as visits, plural. How many visits tho, is debatable. I vaguely view it as each 5 min interval equals 1 HV. So 25 min is equal to roughly 4 HV. And a start is worth 5 HV. Again, this is all my imaginary opinions. But it keeps it simple for me when needing to think about "all things recruiting". But as shoe stated, it's stands alone if the kid doesn't have the Wants to Play preference.

Other coaches will say it's worth more or worth less than that. Which is fair and probably correct, one way or another. But I think it's somewhere in that ball park.

yeah top's estimates are pretty strong imo.

See? ^^^ but that's fair. I actually think it's on the strong side. I do believe the start at 5ish HV is fairly accurate. But I think using my estimate of 1 HV per 5 min is a lil high once you get up to 20 and 25 minutes. I don't see why 10 min at 1 HV, and also 15 min at 2 HV isn't about right

Good ol kctrolldevil. He used to bring valid comments to the forums. Now he's thr guy that says stuff like "this is bad advice from the first word to the last" as a response to something helpful I wrote in a different thread. Then proceeds to write the same response just in his own words. Ahhh now it must be a great comment! Haha

"+1" me to the group that dislike him. At least until the trolling stops. It's cool to disagree on things in a game that has many ways to win. But why troll those who are at least attempting to be helpful?

We disagree. That's ok.

Have a good day top.
