dogg i think they are just talking about winning 1 title in that world. i mean seriously how hard is it to go back and win 1 title, a bunch of coaches could do that. he's not knocking d2/d3.

i am sure a number of folks have won 1 title in each division. it took me 2 years from when i started to get there in tark, i assume a good number of people have done it. whats funny is the d3 title came last, by a mile. my earliest goal was 1 title in every division (in any world) and i got that in just over a year, with the d2 and d3 titles coming from tark.

the thing i always thought would be baller is to win all 3 divisions in the same world in the same season. i won 2/3, but i never could get the 3rd. i got really close for a second, in both season 35 and 36 in tark, all 3 of my teams were in the final 4. both seasons the d2 team lost in the f4, the d3 team lost in the title game, and the d1 team won both of theirs. the d3 team who lost the two titles i was crushed, they were really good those years and i wanted to drop a team so bad, running 3 high end programs in tark with 3 hour recruiting cycles was just too much - but i had to stay for that d3 tark title. the team that lost both final 4s won the title all of the other 5 seasons in the that 33-39 range, so that helped ease the blow, but that first season - 35 - was so important. all i wanted in life was a 3 peat, i knew i was about to majorly wind down and i just wanted to get my 3peat so i could join the elite and retire to the beach for the casual life, and i had a great team who was the favorite. but then i got it right after in that season 37-39 and got my d3 title in season 40 and got to retire that team. so it kinda all worked out in the end, but i'll never get that all 3 titles in 1 season checkbox.

dogg, i wasnt hating on d2/d3 coaches. im pretty much a d3 guy. only tried d1 once or twice and not really a fan.

agree the game is different at d1 and agree its not necessarily harder or easier.

but, im just saying there are some elite coaches that are lacking a d3 or d2 title in certain worlds, and when i say they could easily get one if they wanted to., i probably overstated that as it might take as much as 10 or 15 seasons.if the bounces dont go thier way

also. if a guy has d2 and d3 titles in a world, even if he is a great ciach, its going to beba bit harder to get the d1 title, because he has to work his way up and also d1 has higher population of really good coaches

" Let's look at cubcub for an example. His Illinois team is outstanding. But he didn't win anything in D2 on the way to that Illinois job. And both these two coaches are fantastic. I'm not bringing them up in a "failure" sort of way. They are the best of the best. I'm saying that they didn't win with minimal effort (I'm sure both guys will get D2 titles if they want to. Just not sure if it's happened yet) ."

I didn't remotely understand the game at U of Indy in D2, also I played there under 2.0. Agree D1 and D2/D3 are different tho.
I get that. That's why I wanted to be clear in the fact that I wasn't singling you out in a negative way. Just a random example. I should've also added in the example of the opposite......

such as, look at topdogg.... he sucks at D1 so far! I'm just disappointed that no one commented on how boring I feel D1 is. I was sure I'd get vegetables thrown my way for that. That was the intent!

i always thought the d1 eliteness was oversold, but i just made my peace with that by going there and winning. i'm glad you seem to have reached the same conclusion :)

One accomplishment I'm not sure anyone has done is to win a D1, D2, and D3 title in the same world. Not sure it qualifies as Mt Rushmore status but I think it'd be cool feat to pull off.
I'm hoping to join this club. I just recently rejoined Allen where I have a D1 and D2 title and am hoping to turn Eastern Mennonite into a champion to give me the grand slam in that world.

I had a good run at Palm Beach Atlantic, which is a nice place to coach in D3, especially so in 2.0
