Can I move late season call ups back to their respective teams without taking it affecting their ratings?

My experience has been that you can. I can't recall any late season call-up being sent down who lost rating points.

After the end of the big league season through the day before Rule 5 the next season, there are no demotion penalties at all (I think). Certainly not for late season call-ups.

Thank you for the input. Do I need to wait for playoffs to end or can I make the moves during the playoffs?

Immediately at the end of the World Series rosters lock down-- so during the playoffs. What I don't know is whether you have to wait until the minor league playoffs end.

You can make moves during the playoffs. Be sure to get those guys back to the minors before the post-season roster lockdown. If you wait till after the season rolls over, you can still send them down with no penalty, but you'll wind up paying them major league salaries next year.
